Storm

We had a big thunderstorm last night complete with giant crashing booms. Just as well because it woke me up from a nightmare about tenure. I guess it's fitting that I would have my first nightmare about tenure the night before our semester starts.

(What's messed up is that tenure is still a year+ away from me, and I am already having nightmares about it. It probably has to do with the fact that my mentor and I have begun some of the early strategizing and preparing of materials this week. Talk about a long process, getting ready to get started on it now, and the earliest I can expect a decision will be December 2011.)
